The light at the end of the long dark tunnel: Grief recovery

Exactly 3 months after her wedding Luisa Mannu’s husband Antonio, physician and ophthalmologist, at the age of 35 was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, for which there was little known medical treatment or research. Tragically, he died almost 2 years to the day after their wedding. Luisa tells us how their unconditional love sustained them through the darkest moments, when despite dealing with Antonio’s deteriorating health, they found happiness. She shares with us the stages of recovery from her loss, in a society where grieving can be restricted and incomplete and we are all pressurized into feeling ” happy” and urged to ” move on”.
