It's never too late to develop the confidence you need to succeed

Do you ever look around and notice others creating great things in their lives?  Do you wonder why you haven’t done this for yourself… or if it’s even possible?

No matter what stage of your career you are in, it’s never too late to develop the confidence to start living the life you want now. At ANY age, you are worthy and capable of all the good and great things you can imagine!

So, what’s the difference between you and other successful people?

At the root of it all, they have more faith in themselves. They have great confidence. This allows them to create their world in any way they choose.

Here are 4 must-read steps to begin developing the confidence you need to take charge and create the career that you have always wished for.

  1. Look at yourself in a new way.

Know that you did the best you could at that time, given your circumstances.  You can’t change it, so it’s important that you let it go. Once you’ve taken whatever action you feel is necessary to resolve the issue and bring yourself peace, it’s time to move on. Flip the switch in your mind to focus on what you want so you can create your new life right now, in the present moment.  Since everything in your life is created based on how you feel, it is only when you feel good that you can create the end result you want.

  1. See and feel the greatness in yourself.

As you begin to feel empowered, you will naturally expect great things that you want to come about more easily.  Know that you deserve to have whatever it is you truly desire.  If you have trouble accepting this, it’s time to change how you see yourself.  Say only positive things to yourself. Be kind to yourself in all your thoughts, words, and decisions.  Know the true brilliance that you are!

Don’t be bashful with yourself! It should be refreshing and uplifting as you see your reflection in the mirror. Look yourself in the eyes and remember your accomplishments. Everyone has gifts and talents, so don’t deny them.  Speak them out loud to yourself and feel self-love. Loving yourself, in the best sense of the words, creates confidence and good feelings.

  1. Visualize the life that you dream of…. often!

“In order to hold it in your hand you must first see it in your mind.” You must see yourself as successful before you will become successful.

[Tweet " Imagine what your life will look like when you have reached the success you desire."]

For example, say that you desire that dream job, the one that is a perfect match for your skills and talents.  Imagine, in a quiet and calm moment, what it looks like and feels like to be in that kind of job. Do this often throughout your day! Use your senses to create a picture of the outcome you want.  The more you see this for yourself, the more your confidence will build, and…before you know it… this vision becomes your reality!

  1. Deepen your confidence through action.

If you believe something is a reality, you will act differently. A person who believes they are successful, speaks and holds themselves differently. Begin to act as if you are already successful.

[Tweet "Ask yourself: How do successful people act, speak, and look?"]

Take an action that will get you closer to your goal. Start with something small and see yourself achieving it.  Focus your energy on achieving just one thing at a time. It will create more confidence in yourself, which will in turn create a more positive expectation. As evidence appears that you are getting the results you want, no matter how small, focus on it and give it attention with gratitude!  Your confidence in yourself will grow, and those “good feelings” that create positive things in your life will be abundant.

Now that you have started creating a pattern of achievement and success, taking the next, bigger step will come more easily.  It will allow you to realize that there really is no difference between the faith required to take big actions or small.  It’s all in your mind!  So change how you think and you can change your world.

[Tweet "Your confidence in you is a critical factor in this creative process called life."]

You can choose to have it all or have none.  It’s always your choice. Why not make a decision today to be authentically happy, deepen your faith in you, and start making your dreams become a reality!
