Managing Unconscious Bias – A practical workshop by Dorothy Dalton & Professional Women’s Network
This workshop for professional women provides a brief overview to the role of unconscious bias in both our professional and personal lives.
Women make up 60% of graduates and 50% of the workforce yet the needle for senior appointments in organisations remains sluggish. In some geographies it is even stalling or backsliding. Second generation discrimination, or unconscious bias, has been identified as a major barrier to women’s progress in the workplace. Unconscious bias around gender stereotyping is exhibited by men and women equally!
The workshop will look at unconscious bias, what it is exactly and how it works both for us and against us. Participants will learn that biases rooted deep in our history are no longer necessary in a 21st century knowledge economy, yet we still cling to them and resist change. They will find out that biases can’t be eliminated but only managed.
Start to become aware of where your own biases might lie and how you can pay attention to them.
Please note that spaces are limited, and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
