Communication Skills for Leaders and Teams

Communication Skills for Leaders and Teams

Most workplace dysfunction, performance issues, missed expectations, broken trust, and team conflict can be traced back to communication that was unclear, avoided, or poorly received. The ability to have difficult conversations confidently, give feedback that lands, be heard in meetings, and present with authority is not a soft skill; it is a core professional competency. This workshop builds it.

Format

Duration: 90 minutes – half day (modular)

Location: Online or In Person

Who Should Attend

  • Leaders and managers who want to communicate with greater clarity, confidence, and impact
  • Team members who struggle to be heard, credited, or taken seriously in their workplace
  • Anyone preparing for a high-stakes communication moment — a presentation, a difficult conversation, a negotiation
  • HR and L&D professionals seeking a comprehensive communication skills module

What This Workshop Covers

Grammarly Communication

Having Difficult Conversations with Confidence

Most people avoid difficult conversations not because they don’t recognize the need for them, but because they don’t know how to have them without escalating conflict or damaging the relationship. Participants learn a practical framework for preparing, initiating, and navigating conversations about performance, conflict, and sensitive topics.

Giving Feedback That Actually Works

The most common feedback mistakes, the feedback sandwich, vague reassurance, and catastrophising — and why they make things worse. Participants learn how to provide specific, direct, and actionable feedback in a manner that enhances performance without compromising psychological safety.

Being Heard: Making Your Presence Felt in Meetings

For anyone who has had their ideas ignored, their contributions talked over, or their credit attributed elsewhere. Practical techniques for assertive, strategic participation in meetings, with specific attention to the dynamics that make this harder for women and less senior team members.

Body Language and Non-Verbal Presence

You communicate before you speak, through posture, pace, eye contact, and spatial awareness. This section covers the non-verbal signals that convey confidence and authority, and the common habits that undermine them.

The Art of Effective Presentation

How to hook an audience, structure content for impact, manage nerves, and deliver with authority, whether presenting to a team of three or a conference of three hundred. Covers content, voice, body language, and how to handle questions.

What You Will Leave With

  • Prepare for and navigate difficult conversations with greater confidence and skill
  • Give specific, direct, and constructive feedback that improves performance
  • Participate more strategically and assertively in meetings
  • Manage non-verbal communication to convey presence, confidence, and authority
  • Structure and deliver presentations that engage, persuade, and stick
