Leadership and Change Management
By: Dorothy Dalton

Leadership and Change Management
Organisational change, restructuring, culture transformation, leadership transitions, and technology disruption is now a permanent condition rather than a periodic event. The leaders who manage change well are not those who communicate it most efficiently, but those who understand the human impact of uncertainty and lead through it with psychological intelligence. This workshop builds those skills.
Format
Duration: 2 hours online
Location: Online or in person
What This Workshop Covers

The Human Experience of Organisational Change
The psychological and neurological responses to change, uncertainty, loss, threat response, and the grief cycle, and why ‘change resistance’ is usually a rational, understandable response to being asked to give up something known for something unknown. Leaders who understand this don’t fight resistance; they work with it.
Inclusive Change Communication
How the way change is communicated determines how it is received, and by whom. This section examines how change communication often fails underrepresented groups, remote workers, and those with less institutional power, and provides practical guidance on communication that builds rather than destroys trust.
Leading Teams Through Uncertainty
The specific leadership behaviours that allow teams to function effectively during periods of significant change: psychological safety, honest communication, equitable workload management, and visible, accessible leadership. Participants examine which of these they currently provide and where the gaps are.
Managing the Psychosocial Risks of Change
ISO 45003 identifies unmanaged change as a significant psychosocial hazard. This section examines the specific risks, role confusion, job insecurity, loss of relationships, skills redundancy, and the practical steps leaders can take to mitigate them as change is implemented.
Building Resilience and Adaptability: For Yourself and Your Team
Change leadership is demanding. This section addresses the personal resilience requirements of leading through sustained uncertainty, and the leadership habits that builds adaptability in teams over time.
